Description

The Confederation of Protestant Churches in Lower Saxony is an association of the five Protestant regional churches in Lower Saxony with around 3.2 million members in more than 1600 parishes.

The Confederation's task is to represent the common concerns of the Protestant churches in Lower Saxony to the state of Lower Saxony in a unified manner.

It fulfills the ecclesiastical public mandate in this common concern.

Our office, on behalf of the churches of the Confederation, participates in the ecclesiastical public mandate and engages in the social discourse on individual and social ethical issues, in order to enable a representation of the churches of the Confederation in the public sphere.

We are a small and competent team of currently 10 employees, working on various tasks. Outside of the office, there are almost 50 employees working for the Confederation, spread across all of Lower Saxony.

At the same time, the office manages non-autonomous institutions of the Confederation (Protestant adult education, ecclesiastical service in the police and customs, labor and service law commission, theological examination office, and ecclesiastical courts).

Its task is to promote information, communication, and networking between the churches.

Their cooperation is designed in such a way that a growing together into one Protestant Church in Lower Saxony is possible.
