Position Summary:

The role of Materials Buyer-Planner is vital in our manufacturing facility, responsible for efficiently acquiring and managing materials essential for production. The focus is on tactical procurement and detailed planning to uphold optimal inventory levels, minimize costs, and meet production needs. Responsibilities include coordinating with suppliers, monitoring inventory, and maintaining precise records for the effective and cost-efficient operation of the plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:
- Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing costs and preventing shortages.
- Monitor and replenish materials as necessary.
- Address slow-moving or obsolete items.
Production Planning:
- Collaborate with production teams on schedules.
- Ensure timely availability of materials for production.
Procurement:
- Partner with Strategic Sourcing teams for sourcing and negotiations.
- Create and handle purchase orders, ensuring on-time delivery.
Supplier Relationships:
- Build and manage relationships with key suppliers.
- Resolve supplier issues promptly.
Cost Control:
- Analyze market trends for cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement procurement strategies and cost reduction initiatives.
Documentation and Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate procurement and inventory records.
- Generate reports for performance evaluation.
Quality Control:
- Collaborate on quality standards with Supplier Quality teams.
- Address quality issues with suppliers.
Compliance:
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and ethical standards.
