Mary Lee Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing diverse services and housing to adults with various types of disabilities.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping etc.
  • Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc.
  • Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
  • Install appliances and equipment
  • Drywall and sheet rock repair/installation
  • Painting various indoor and outdoor surfaces
  • Installing appliances, fixtures, and shelving
  • Do garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash etc.
  • Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation)
  • Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
  • Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations
  • Report to a facilities or maintenance manager for issues
  • Adheres to and completes all necessary work pertaining to your department to fulfill the requirements of all policies, procedures, and standards of the Mary Lee Foundation, The Mary Lee Foundation Rehabilitation Center and applicable outside agencies including but not limited to CARF, DADS, HHS, TWC and other agencies.

Responsibilities are not limited to the above list and may include other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
  • Experience using hand and electrical tools
  • Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical stamina and dexterity
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements:


With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirements of this job may include the following: seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly.

Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, frequent sitting, standing and walking, may be required for long periods of time and may involve climbing stairs, walking up inclines, and on uneven terrain.

Additional physical requirements may include, frequent lifting, bending down, and/or moving up to 50 pounds.


Qualifications:


  • Clean background check
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience with apartment maintenance at the professional level
  • Familiar with CARF, DADS, HHS, or TWC standards or willing to learn
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Valid Drivers License (preferred)
