Job Summary and Qualifications:

The Pre-Hospital Care Coordinator (PCC) is a registered nurse who reports to the Director of Emergency Services.

The PCC is responsible and accountable for planning organizing, developing and directing daily operation of prehospital and mobile intensive care nurses (MICN).

The PCC participates with the entire ED leadership team for achievement of key results in the areas of quality, service, growth, people and finance.

The PCC is responsible with the ED clinical manager, for determining educational needs of the nursing staff in caring for patients, assuring that the highest quality of care is provided in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, as well as other regulations that govern Los Robles Hospital and Regional Medical Center.

The PCC will provide oversight for the pediatric program within the emergency department in collaboration with the ED clinical manager and educator.

In addition, the PCC participates in outreach programs related to prevention and first response to acute life-threatening events, such as Hands Only CPR and Stop the Bleed programs, working in conjunction with other service lines or outreach teams.

The PCC serves as a role model to staff and possess professional communication skills and clinical and operational decision making.

As a member of the prehospital and first-response community, the PCC serves as a liaison to the EMS team and facility as it pertains to disaster preparedness and emergency response.

The PCC shows skill in leading and motivating others, conflict resolution, service excellence, and finance management.

This person assists the ED director in attaining budgetary accountability by assuring that staffing reflects alignment with the staffing matrix and fluctuates appropriately to meet the needs of the department.


What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's degree preferred upon hire. If note present on hire, a plan to obtain one to begin within one year of hire.
  • Current RN license by the Board of Nurse Examiners State of California
  • Current MICN (Mobile Intensive Care Nurse) license in Ventura County
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer CPR card
  • Current ACLS card
  • Current PALS card
  • Current TNCC card
  • Current BLS Card
  • Current HIHSS Card
  • Current TNCC Cared
  • Current NIHSS certification Current CPI, MAB or equivalent assaultive behavior certificate/card
  • Certification in Emergency, Trauma or Pediatric nursing by BCEN preferred; required to obtain within one year of hire.
  • Certifications may be obtained within first six months of hire with prior COO approval.
  • Minimum of one year experience in Emergency Nursing
