    Description

    Objective:

    This position is responsible for managing Smart Care financial accounting processes and is a key partner to the CFO. The responsibilities include reporting financial results in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and Smart Care's and Climate's policies. The position is responsible for the maintenance and development of accounting policies and controls; and company adherence of such. This position is a primary functional contact with various Smart Care departments across the Enterprise. Position will be lead point of contact with external Auditors; external tax; and accounting compliance advisors. Position will provide ongoing financial communication and oversight to field personnel. Reporting to the CFO; the position will be a key member of the Finance Leadership Team. The controllers of each segment and consolidation will report to the Corporate Controller.

    Principle Accountabilities:

    • Lead financial statement consolidation process monthly and ensure financial statements are presented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Recruit, train, lead and develop the accounting teams. Provide ongoing leadership to all accounting personnel.
    • Lead annual external audit in compliance with external requirements
    • Ensure integrity of financial results through regular reconciliations of all permanent accounts and underlying ledgers
    • Cost accounting for inventory and inventory control oversite for all SCCS entities. Maintain accrual and reporting of all employee and management contingent pay plans
    • Develop and maintain segment level and cost center reporting.
    • Technical Expert of POC accounting, capable of training and reviewing POC accounting for the entity preferred
    • Coordinate with FPA department on the corporate consolidation and account mapping, for both reporting and forecasting activities.
    • Partner with segment presidents, along with segment controllers to meet the needs of business and functional leaders
    • Ensure functional expertise of primary front-end and back-end ERP systems exist in department.
    • Partner with Senior Directors of Finance and FPA team as active participant in the annual operating plan process.
    • Coordinate IT and other capital asset procurement as necessary in accordance with company guidelines.
    • Provide direct leadership of all Smart Care compliance activities including reviews, monitoring and remediation and coordinate audit activities with internal/external auditors
    • Provide for all Intercompany accounting including insurance, operating expenses, benefits, and bonuses

    • Direct Reports: Two segment controller

    Requirements:

    • 10(+) years of progressive accounting/financial experience, minimum of 2 years in controller position preferred
    • Private equity and consolidation experience preferred.
    • Ability to partner with Operational and sales leaders to provide data that will drive results.
    • Proven ability to successfully manage complex accounting and reporting systems
    • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and identify/implement ideas for improvement
    • Strong financial accounting and reporting skills
    • Ability to solve and articulate complex solutions with minimal input and direction
    • Ability to amicably resolve issues and questions with internal/external customers
    • CPA and Public Accounting experience preferred
