Duties:


As the Laborer Supervisor you will:

  • Supervises workers directly or through work leaders in accomplishing the daily work assignments to ensure the NGA is clean and ready to accept visitors when open to the public.
  • Coordinates and directs a variety of work operations involved in cleaning and maintaining the highquality appearance of all spaces within the buildings belonging to the NGA.
  • Uses the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create work orders, complete work orders and update the system to track labor (regular and overtime hours, contractor costs) and material usage.
  • Works closely with the Facilities Services Special Events Coordinator and their staff to provide outstanding service in support of inhouse special event setups.
  • Works in conjunction with the Operations, Maintenance, Engineering Departments and Work Control Center and Procurement offices and to help coordinate work and to ensure timely and quality cleaning maintenance of all public and nonpublic spaces in acceptable standards throughout the NGA.
  • Supports an effective safety program including safety procedures, measures, and precautions to ensure that staff promote and implement the safety program with employees in all work practices.
  • Provides information to the Foreman regarding manpower requirements, ability to accomplish work as scheduled, project accomplishments, and other pertinent information.

Work requires frequent standing, bending and stooping. Work occurs in cramped areas. Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 80 pounds, unassisted. Works on ladders, scaffolds and high lifts. Requires weekend hours and shift work. Requires indoor and outdoor performance of duties.

Must be able to climb ladders, stay on feet for long periods of time and be able to work from standing, bending, kneeling and awkward positions.

The incumbent is exposed to dirt, dust, chemicals, chemical vapors and human secretions.
