Instructional Management:
Systematically and continuously monitors instructional processes to ensure that program activities are related to program outcomes.
Holds regular meetings with the grade level chairpersons on an individual and group basis to facilitate communication and evaluate instruction within the grade levels.
Oversees all instructional programs. Assists the principal in ordering textbooks and supplementary materials used in the implementation of the instructional programs.School Climate:
Promotes high expectations for staff and students.
School Improvement:
Applies research findings to facilitate school improvement.
Personnel Management:
Observes instruction, records observations, and conducts conferences. Confers with staff in the development of individual professional goals. Provides and/or encourages staff participation in in-service training appropriate to individual needs and school campus improvement needs. Facilitates the process of assigning and overseeing student teachers to appropriate staff.

Fiscal Management:
Assists in providing a safe and secure environment for learning. Assists in maintaining and coordinating a calendar of events. Assists in the budgetary process.

Additional Information:
The Assistant Principal of Instruction will work in an environment adhering to the University Lab School energy policy. The workday extends beyond regular school hours. The length of the workday varies as the result of evening activities or emergencies.
In addition, job responsibilities may require work on weekends or holidays and attendance at meetings other than the location of the school site.
The School Principal should be able to use a telephone, audio-visual equipment, computer, copy machine, laminator, calculator, intercom, public address system, security alarm system, and other appropriate office machines and communication systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university; 6 years of classroom teaching and and shall have demonstrated their ability as an instructional leader with superior ability as an instructor.
Experience with supervising and evaluating teachers.Minimum Certification/Licenses:
Possess a valid Administrator's certificate
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Education Leadership; Experience as Principal desired.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with other professionals, children and parents.

The Elementary Assistant Principal of Instruction is a deliberate coach and effective manager responsible for helping teachers realize and reach their full potential.
The EAPI provides highquality job embedded coaching and feedback to teachers so that they can develop and master their teaching skills.
The EAPI ensures that teachers design and execute an instructional program that develops mastery and skills above grade level expectations and meets the individual needs of each student.
