BASIC FUNCTION


Under broad oversight and in compliance with Company policies and procedures, this position requires a high-energy individual, degree of creativity, mechanical knowhow, superior interpersonal skills, and the ability to create engineering programs, and develop/drive changes as needed.

In addition, this position is tasked with coordinating the daily floor operations as it pertains, but is not limited to, setups, inspection, tooling, inventory, maintenance, and general duties as needed to meet the scheduled workload for the Laser/Punch Press Department.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the timely and successful programming of components to be manufactured on the Punch Press and/or Laser Cutting machinery.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the Laser/Punch Press Department, working closely with the Production Director and applicable supervisor(s) from both facilities (as needed) to ensure that quality products are manufactured in a timely fashion.
  • Stages work orders at the appropriate machines, designating operators for said jobs and providing the necessary job-related information to operators.
  • Provides additional backup support for the Laser/Punch Press Operators as needed.
  • Collaborates and communicates with plant personnel at all levels with regards to Laser and/or Punch Press operations.
  • Assists in the management of department staff (i.e, hiring, corrective actions, training, firing, yearly reviews).
  • Review ECN's to ensure the appropriate changes are made to programs when needed. Update programs in accordance with internal procedures.
  • When needed, will perform the duties of Laser/Punch Press Operators.
  • Seeks out improvement to processes, programs, and tooling to not only enhance existing processes, but also ensure quality control. Suggests changes and/or modifications to new or existing jobs, seeking to improve run rate, quality, and efficiency (programs, tooling, etc.).
  • Works independently and/or within a team on special/non-recurring projects.
  • Acts as a steward of the Medicraft brand, consistently representing and reflecting the Company's core values, approach, and high standards of excellence in all internal and external interactions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education:_
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent related business experience preferred.

  • Experience & Expertise:_
  • Minimum of two (2) years handson experience in writing programs Laser Cutting and/or Punch Press machinery.
  • Capable of setting up/operating Laser/Punch Press jobs to layouts supplied, as well as identifying and selecting the correct tooling for specific materials and/or processes.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated manufacturing industry is a must. Prior exposure to Medical Device industry/working in compliance to ISO 13485 is a plus.
  • Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications. Knowledge of sampling and inspection plans.
  • Familiarity with the utilization of measuring instruments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to interact with all levels of internal personnel, and occasionally Customers.
  • Demonstrated time management, analytical, critical thinking, detailoriented, deductive reasoning, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proven record of success working in a fastpaced, high pressure, deadlinedriven work environment.
  • Working knowledge of various business/production/logistics computer systems. Experience utilizing MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), AutoCAD, Solid Works, etc.
  • Physical Demands:_
  • Required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must keep working areas clean, organized and obey safety warnings.
  • Must be mobile capable of communicating with customers and plant personnel at all levels.
  • May involve some repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling.

Pay:
$ $40.00 per hour


Expected hours:
No less than 40 per week
