Job Title:
Research Associate (I/II/III)

Key responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

• Cell culture of primary cells/ cell lines that are adherent or in suspension (mesenchymal stem/ stromal cells, T cells, NK cells, etc.). Maintain cells in culture, cryopreserve large batches of cells, maintain cell bank inventory electronically and physically.
• Perform various tasks as part of a team to support research activities (i.e. make media, maintain cells in culture as per SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), generate Cargocytes for in vitro characterization and for in vivo studies, participate in process development and assay development).
• Perform experiments and develop assays to interrogate cells by flow cytometry, molecular methods, or cellbased methods.
• Comply with and contribute to Company standards for record keeping and documentation of experimental procedures and results.
• Implement strategies to keep the lab organized, help with ordering supplies, and coordinate operational tasks with the team.
• Analyze and summarize data, present progress to direct manager and other team members.
• Work in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary, and matrixed team environment.

Desirable Skills (include, but not limited to):

• Tissue culture experience
• Basic microscopy
• Experience handling animals
• Cell engineering
• Virus growth and purification
• Cell transfection
• Molecular biology

Education and experience:

• BSc in life sciences (biology, etc.) and 2+ years of relevant work experience, or a MSc in life sciences and prior mammalian cell culture experience. Title and salary will be commensurate with experience and relevant training.
• Handson experience in cell culture is necessary. Prior experience in cell biology or cell therapy (MSCs, iPSC, T cells, NK cells) is strongly preferred. Experience with flow cytometry and cellbased methods is strongly preferred. Experience in qPCR, ELISA, IHC, confocal imaging would be desirable.
• Must have shown evidence of productivity in teams, ability to take initiative, solve problems and drive projects to completion.
