    The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC), Department of Pediatrics is seeking an exceptional leader experienced in clinical operations to develop, lead, and grow the clinical efforts, medical education, and scholarship within the Section Chief of Pediatric Rheumatology.

    The successful candidate will have experience working within an academic environment, the ability to work independently with expertise and the desire to develop and build a program with full Department and Institutional support.

    We are seeking a clinically focused rising leader, committed to excellence in clinical patient care, medical education, administration, and scholarship.


    The incoming Section Chief will oversee, lead, and manage the development and expansion of all aspects and missions related to the Section of Pediatric Rheumatology at OUHSC.

    As the only pediatric rheumatology program serving the patients in the state of Oklahoma, the Section provides diagnosis and treatment of infants, children and adolescents with rheumatologic disorder including juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, hypermobility syndromes, fibromyalgia, reactive arthritis, spondylitis, scleroderma, psoriatic and inflammatory bowel disease related arthritis to pediatric patients from all across the state as well as surrounding states in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

    The Department and Institution are dedicated to the program's success, fully supporting additional faculty recruitment efforts in the expansion of the program at OUHSC.

    The responsibilities of the incoming Section Chief include leadership and oversight of the Section, recruitment of faculty clinicians who are committed to excellence in patient care, engaging in teaching and mentorship of learners and students, participation in direct patient care in both the outpatient and inpatient settings, and overseeing and directing the program's growth, expansion, and development.


    The Section Chief will be the holder of an Endowed Chair faculty position with the Department's commitment, resources, and support.

    For leaders with an interest in education there will be an opportunity to develop a Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship Program to further develop the Section.

    We are seeking applicants who are board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Rheumatology with a history of demonstrated excellence clinical care.

    Candidates must possess the ability and desire to establish and grow a program from the ground up, possess outstanding clinical and communication skills, an interest and focus on providing high quality patient care, and have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse team environment.
