The Degree Audit and Curriculum Analyst provides primary support for Ellucian DegreeWorks (degree audit system) including developing, scribing, and maintaining audits as curriculum changes occur through each academic year.

The Degree Audit and Curriculum Analyst will also be responsible for testing upgrades, troubleshooting issues, training for various departments across campus, and ensuring the DegreeWorks system is functioning in the most efficient way for students, staff, and faculty.

Under the leadership of the Associate Registrar for Curriculum and Scheduling, the Degree Audit and Curriculum Analyst will assist with the support of college curriculum processes to maintain accurate data, assist with course level record creation and maintenance in Banner, helps to maintain catalog and degree information, performs data entry, and supports curriculum systems and processes.

In addition, the Degree Audit and Curriculum Analyst is also responsible for troubleshooting curricular issues across various systems.

This position is expected to work in cooperation with constituents from other departments, colleges and schools, external constituents, and other customers to assist the University in maintaining curriculum accuracy and compliance.


Position Specific Accountabilities/ Responsibilities**- Serve as the primary functional lead for DegreeWorks including scribing and curriculum accuracy.

  • Create and maintain reports requiring complex queries, including the creation of views with SQL, scripts and the export of data into accessible report formats.
  • Assist with reviewing curriculum and requirements for academic programs and ensure they are accurately and promptly scribed (coded) in DegreeWorks.
  • Interpret university/college/department policies and program information.
  • Test and implement DegreeWorks and other curriculum upgrades as they are available.
  • Test and maintain the degree audit system reviewing for accuracy to ensure the reliability and integrity of the data.
  • Seek to improve functionality of DegreeWorks as it relates the Scribe language, audit worksheet functionality, analytical capabilities of the software, and how the overall software can better serve students and employees.
  • Responds to questions about degree audits from faculty advisors and staff, and make corrections to degree audits as necessary.
  • Provide customer service, training, consulting, and technical support in areas related to DegreeWorks, bulletin and curriculum management.
  • Provide data for reports as needed by various departments.
  • Coordinate DegreeWorks functionalities for processes related to degree conferral and collaborate with the Graduation Specialist when necessary.
  • Build and edit academic courses in Banner Student Information System (SIS) and catalog/curriculum management system to ensure each course contains correct course information from the approved curriculum documentation.
  • Maintain course level prerequisites and other registration restrictions required in support of the schedule of classes in DegreeWorks and Banner.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure curriculum accuracy is reflected in DegreeWorks.
  • Attend available conferences and trainings to improve both the functional and technical aspects of DegreeWorks.
  • Follow curriculum process to ensure course level updates are made in a timely fashion to assist in the semester scheduling process.
  • Maintain office standard operating procedures and training materials
  • Review curriculum content for accuracy between curriculum systems, such as Banner, bulletin management system, curriculum management system, and Degree Works.
  • Perform other related duties.

Requisite Qualifications
Typically a Bachelor
- 's degree from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes. Three years of direct experience in higher education in a Records and/or Registrar
- 's office.

  • At least Two (2) years of experience with Banner student information system and DegreeWorks is preferred.
  • DegreeWorks/Scribe experience is preferred.
  • Experience with SQL and oracle databases. Experience with report writing tools (Evisions Argos preferred).
  • Experience using curriculum and bulletin management systems, workflow systems or other similar software is preferred.
  • Expertise in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and troubleshoot data conflicts.
  • Knowledge of student information systems and degree audit systems.
  • Knowledge of the academic schedul
