- Support internal / external customers and global cross-functional colleagues by communicating technical and project milestones and updates.
- Develop mastery of existing calculators and engineering tools as well as facilitation of creation of new design and analysis tools as needed/appropriate.
- Analyze and quantify value vs. applied cost of compression technologies for system development.
- Apply high degree of independent engineering knowledge to cross functional efforts in technical development and problem solving.
- Conceive and execute development and testing plans based with a mindset towards risk mitigation, and coordinate with appropriate resources for timely execution.
- Apply and support the incorporation of Lean principles and techniques into the New Product Development process.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, another technology discipline or equivalent. No prior experience is required.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent presentation, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of various office computer programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
- Proficient in the use of various engineering computer programs such as NX/SolidWorks, ANSYS, and Minitab.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments with multiple disciplines.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States, unrestricted for an unlimited period of time - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
- Two (2) years of relevant work experience, including co-op terms, in development of electrically driven rotating equipment or similar fields.
- Proficient in the engineering principles in the areas of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, mechanics, materials, statics, dynamics, machine design, and/or tribology.
- Experience working with and/or implementing lean techniques into the product development process.
- Ability to communicate with technical, manufacturing, and business leaders at all levels.
- Knowledge of thermodynamics, vapor compression cycle & heat transfer knowledge/experience applied to Air Conditioning & Heat Pump systems.
