ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Quality Control Supervisor ensures that the organization maintains the ability to deliver products and/or services that consistently meet customer quality and delivery requirements, while continuing to improve safety, productivity, throughput and variable cost.

This position supervises leads, inspectors and lab personnel in the following areas:
Inspection, NDT, Physical Test Lab, Metallurgical Lab, Chemical Lab, Gage Room.

This position will also be in charge of leading the company's efforts for NADCAP Certification in NDT, Lab, and Heat Treat for PB Fasteners.

The Quality Control Supervisor will work with both Operations and Engineering on Process Improvement and Problem Solving in all areas of quality in the plant.


  • Manage and supervise NDT, lab, and inspection day to day activities.
  • Responsible for quality systems
  • Facilitate flow between manufacturing departments to and through the quality departments to feed daily shipping requirements.
  • Ensures procedural and policy adherence along with quality compliance.
  • Ability to interpret specification/procedural requirements and translate into decisions.
  • Drives improvement in quality levels.
  • Ensure that proper resources are allocated to the jobs in queue.
  • Manage quality lab supplies and ensure continuous supply of consumables as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned to fulfill position and division objectives.
  • Manages quality lab, inspection, and certification employees.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
  • Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, developing team and setting goal plans for growth and development of staff.
  • Must be deadline driven with strong bias toward results achievement; flexible with schedule and shifting priorities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor's degree (B. S. or B.A.) from a fouryear college or university; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and process documentation.
  • Prior management experience with process improvement knowledge and understanding of total quality management system and tools.
  • Strong applicable knowledge of Microsoft Office.

REQUIRED SKILLS:


  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public, and strong organizational, time management, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead teams towards established goals and objectives.
