The W arehouse A ssociate performs daily warehouse receiving, stocking and put away activities while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

R eceive and put away stock material accurately and in a timely fashion .

Ensure outgoing freight is shipped efficiently each day.

Handle returned goods properly and promptly.

Handle customer returns and credits in a timely fashion.

Maintain clean and safe work area, including delivery vehicles.

Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks of warehouse equipment including pallet jacks and forklifts.

Additional Responsibilitie s

Actively participate in and contribute to Mayers Continuous Quality Improvement efforts.

Complete assigned training in a timely manner.

May participate in or assist with physical inventory preparation or process.

Demonstrate commitment to Mayers core values and vision to be First Choice with our suppliers, customers, and associates.

Complete all other appropriate tasks or duties assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities

Ability to read and write.

Basic math skills

Ability to accurately pull the correct items.

Basic understanding of warehouse procedures.

Good organizational skills , attention to detail , problem-solving and time-management skills .

Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team.

Qualifications

Minimu m Requirements :

Some high school

Desired Qualifications :

High school diploma

Forklift operation experience

Work Environment:

The W arehouse A ssociate works in a warehouse or loading dock area . May drive forklifts or operate pallet jacks.

The associate m ay be exposed to fumes, odors, and/or dust.

Temperatures in the work environment may vary between cold and hot depending upon the season.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to walk throughout warehouse and access storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, bending, and reaching.

Must be able to climb ladders.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs., and push and pull up to 300 lbs.

Travel Requirements:

Overnight travel may be required on occasion to attend training.
