Overview:

Nexus Teen Academy is an Adolescent Residential Treatment facility for substance abuse and mental health. We are searching for Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT's) for overnight shifts (Fri-Sun & Sat-Mon).

BHT's works closely with the Lead BHT and clinical staff as part of the Quality Management Team, which supports compliance with all delivery of services to the fiscal, ethical and legal standards upheld by the State of Arizona and Behavioral health department, the core values and mission of Nexus Teen Academy.

Duties:

• Oversight and monitoring of patients in the housing unit, Q15s, Q30s, Q60s
• Supervise patients and encourage activities of daily living including bedtime and overnight procedures, hygiene and cleanliness, housekeeping, and meals.
• Ensure patients are held accountable to following programming, housing rules, and guidelines.
• Works collaboratively with the Lead Behavioral Health Technician for management of safety requirements and general cleanliness needs.
• Ensures compliance with legal issues including but not limited to client confidentiality and risk management; ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Exhibits a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other personnel.
• Adjusts to fluctuating peaks in patient flow, acuity, and other operational demands while maintaining quality.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills Required

• Ability to embrace and fluidly represent the culture of the organization.
• Must maintain a valid CPR and First Aid Training Completion Certificate.
• Valid Driver's License with 39 months of clean driving record.
• Must possess a level one Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Must possess a Food Handler's Card
• Must have an active CPI certification
• High school diploma or equivalent
• BHT / EMT / MA license accepted, but not required

Additional Notes

• Must be willing to learn and ask questions, accept feedback and be accountable.
• Personal or professional experience with recovery and/or adolescents preferred.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Able to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills is a plus, but not required
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a positive collaborative relationship among staff.
• Ability to work in a fastpaced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
