- Is responsible for the recruitment, selection, inservice training, supervision and evaluation of all district personnel assigned to his/her school site in accordance with district policies and procedures, except for those employees specifically assigned to a separate district program.
- Is responsible for the effective operation of the instructional programs at his/her school in accordance with adopted district curriculum and in the absence thereof State Frameworks and Model Curriculum.
- Is responsible for the selection of instructional materials appropriate to his/her assigned school in accordance with district policies, procedures, regulations and State Law.
- Is responsible for student records, health, safety, guidance, discipline, and activity programs appropriate to his/her assignment.
- Is responsible for parent and community communications, relations, and interaction programs appropriate to his/her assignment.
- Is responsible for the operation, within compliance requirements, for all state, federal and local categorical programs appropriate to his/her assignment.
- Is responsible for the implementation at his/her site of the provisions of the Certificated Agreement, District Policies, Procedures and Regulations, and State and Federal Law.
- Is responsible for budget development, and management of the expenditures of district funds allocated for his/her site within budget restraints and in accordance with district policies, procedures, regulations and state law.
- Is responsible for the inspection and reporting of the health, safety, cleanliness, and state of repair of those facilities to which he/she is assigned.
- Is responsible for district-wide programs as assigned by the Superintendent.
- Is responsible for participation in district planning and decision making as assigned by the Superintendent.
- Appropriate State of California credential for service as a school principal.
- Selection and approval by the Superintendent and Governing Board.
