    Description
    I.

    General Description Under the supervision of the Superintendent or other Administrative Designee, the Principal serves as the educational leader and chief executive officer of the school to which he/she is assigned.

    II. General Scope of Service 1.

    Is responsible for the recruitment, selection, inservice training, supervision and evaluation of all district personnel assigned to his/her school site in accordance with district policies and procedures, except for those employees specifically assigned to a separate district program.

    2.

    Is responsible for the effective operation of the instructional programs at his/her school in accordance with adopted district curriculum and in the absence thereof State Frameworks and Model Curriculum.

    3.

    Is responsible for the selection of instructional materials appropriate to his/her assigned school in accordance with district policies, procedures, regulations and State Law.

    4. Is responsible for student records, health, safety, guidance, discipline, and activity programs appropriate to his/her assignment. 5. Is responsible for parent and community communications, relations, and interaction programs appropriate to his/her assignment. 6.

    Is responsible for the operation, within compliance requirements, for all state, federal and local categorical programs appropriate to his/her assignment.

    7.

    Is responsible for the implementation at his/her site of the provisions of the Certificated Agreement, District Policies, Procedures and Regulations, and State and Federal Law.

    8.

    Is responsible for budget development, and management of the expenditures of district funds allocated for his/her site within budget restraints and in accordance with district policies, procedures, regulations and state law.

    9.

    Is responsible for the inspection and reporting of the health, safety, cleanliness, and state of repair of those facilities to which he/she is assigned.

    10. Is responsible for district-wide programs as assigned by the Superintendent. 11. Is responsible for participation in district planning and decision making as assigned by the Superintendent. III. Qualifications 1. Appropriate State of California credential for service as a school principal. 2. Selection and approval by the Superintendent and Governing Board.
