    Description

    Exciting Opportunity for a Medical Professional

    • Opportunity available for an MD, PA, or NP (with a Supervising Physician) on a flexible schedule
    • No weekend shifts or hospital rounds required

    This position is located in the medical unit at Bayfield County Jail, where our Medical Director and on-site nurses provide comprehensive medical services to inmates. Southern Health Partners (SHP) has over 20 years of experience in correctional healthcare and ensures a safe and secure work environment within the jail.

    The selected provider will be an independent contractor responsible for overseeing and delivering medical services a few hours per week, with on-call duties as needed. Collaboration with correctional and medical staff is essential to offer primary care services effectively.

    SHP offers a monthly payment and malpractice insurance coverage for the provider's services.

    Duties:

    • Conduct facility visits, patient consultations, medication prescriptions, and referrals
    • Review and approve medical staff orders and progress notes
    • Ensure adherence to care standards and provide supervision when necessary
    • Maintain patient confidentiality per privacy laws

    Requirements:

    • Pass background check for security clearance
    • Hold current licensure relevant to the job
    • Experience in Family Practice and/or Emergency Medicine preferred
