Job DescriptionPosition: Facilities and Maintenance Engineer
PharmaLogic is a leading contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) firm specializing in innovative diagnostic imaging and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals for cancer treatment. With extensive experience in drug development and commercialization, we aim to advance radiopharmaceutical technology for the global benefit of patients.
Role Description:
We are seeking a talented Facilities and Maintenance Engineer to join our team and contribute to the completion, commissioning, and launch of our advanced manufacturing facility in Idaho Falls, ID.
Following this phase, you will transition into a pivotal role ensuring the continuous functionality of the site as part of a dedicated team committed to delivering groundbreaking therapies to market.
The Facilities and Maintenance Engineer will be instrumental in overseeing the maintenance of the facility, production, and laboratory equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Site Management to optimize capacity and ensure efficient, compliant operation of equipment, utilities, and facilities in accordance with GMP, safety, and environmental standards.
Lead the preventive and predictive maintenance program, conducting reliability assessments, root cause analyses, and identifying improvement opportunities to minimize maintenance costs.
Support troubleshooting efforts for equipment issues and investigate atypical manufacturing events related to system failures.
Manage small-scale projects from inception to completion, including scope development, design support, and commissioning/testing.
Identify spare parts and standby equipment requirements to maintain operational capacity and reliability.
Facilitate maintenance scheduling and planning processes within designated areas.
Promote a positive safety culture, participate in safety inspections and HAZOP reviews, and encourage open communication and teamwork.
Develop SOPs/User Manuals and contribute to training initiatives for maintenance personnel.
Assist in process studies, engineering standards development, equipment utilization, and profit planning.
Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and environmental regulations during all operations.
Lead equipment installation and qualification processes, as well as commissioning activities for cleanroom suites.
Design and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan and procedures for internal tasks.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Facility Management, or related field.
Minimum of 10 years' progressive experience in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, or biological manufacturing preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across diverse teams.
Proficiency in computer-based systems and automation common in R&D and manufacturing facilities.
Project management experience and a solid understanding of functional areas within the role.
Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Highly organized with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to adapt to shift changes as required by business needs.
Preferred experience in facility/operations management, industrial engineering, equipment maintenance, or pharmaceutical manufacturing (GMP and FDA regulated).
Desired experience supporting Research and Development or GMP Manufacturing activities.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, including obtaining Radiation Worker II certification within three months of employment.
Physical and Intellectual Requirements:
Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity for handling equipment and small items.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as crawling, stooping, and kneeling.
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
