    SUMMARY:


    Providence, a multidiscipline environmental and engineeringconsulting firmis seeking a full-time position for a Civil Engineer for its Baton Rouge, Louisiana office.

    The successful candidate will support other Providence staff in the execution of various civil and environmental engineering projects including but not limited to public works projects, industrial projects, and solid and hazardous waste projects.

    The successful candidate shall have strong oral and written communication skills.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) :

    Bachelor's degree or master's degree in civil engineering

    3 years' experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D in a work environment.

    Experience in creating civil design packages and volume calculations between new and existing surfaces

    Organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks.

    Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

    Previous consulting experience preferred.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    Ability to travel frequently and on short notice.

    Ability to lift 30 lbs.

    Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions and on varied terrain, sometimes for extended periods of time.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan and execute projects

    Compile and submit permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies verifying that projects comply with various regulations

    Perform or oversee soil testing activities

    Use design software to plan and design transportation systems, hydraulic systems, and waste/water containment facilities in line with industry and government standards

    Perform or oversee, surveying operations to establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction

    Present their findings to the public and clients on topics such as bid proposals, environmental impact statements, and various project designs

    Manage the design, construction, repair, maintenance, and replacement of public and private infrastructure
