Description

Associates work alongside Senior Associates to assist in advancing design concepts and ensuring the accuracy of drawing sets and presentation materials. They need to be organized and effective communicators to collaborate successfully with team members, clients, consultants, contractors, and agency representatives. Additionally, they should possess strong design thinking skills and proficiency in drawing, whether by hand or digitally, to refine ideas and address challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare documents for the Founding Principal's use
Conduct research tasks like site analysis
Create analytical and conceptual drawings, graphics, and 3D models
Develop and manage all project design aspects from initial sketches to construction documentation under the Project Manager's guidance
Initiate innovative problem-solving solutions and contribute to a collaborative design atmosphere
Organize design presentation packages and drawing sets effectively
Assist in drafting project workplans and task lists with the Project Manager
Organize and manage project data from clients and consultants accurately
Collaborate with external design teams to incorporate design updates seamlessly
Supervise internal team activities, track progress, and document meeting minutes and action items
Represent the organization in client, design team, and public meetings as necessary
Guide and support junior team members
Visit project sites, liaise with contractors, and oversee construction progress
Handle and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs)
May involve domestic or international travel for client meetings and project site visits

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture (Architectural degrees are considered on a case-by-case basis)
Minimum 5 years of experience in Landscape Architecture or related fields
Preferred additional licenses or LEED certification
Demonstrated expertise in document development, technical detailing, permitting, and project installation coordination
Previous project coordination experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite required. Familiarity with SketchUp, Rhino, and Lumion preferred
Knowledge of plant materials and planting design principles
Effective communication, time management, and collaboration abilities
