    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    We seek a bright, professional, well-organized, resourceful, and detail-oriented individual to support the Company's General Counsel ("GC"), Legal Team and Global Head of Risk & Compliance. Must possess a strong work ethic, calm demeanor, positive attitude, and genuine desire to contribute to and enhance the performance of Matthew's GC, Global Head of Risk & Compliance and the Legal Team. Formal legal education or training not required.

    Specific Responsibilities include:

    Assisting the General Counsel by:

    • Managing the GC's schedule and calendar
    • Organizing domestic and international travel for the GC
    • Preparing expense reports and inputting into Concur for approval
    • Providing executive phone coverage for the GC
    • Preparing, formatting, editing, tracking, and proofreading contracts and other legal documents on which the GC is working
    • Drafting correspondence, primarily based on templates, past correspondence, or other instructions from the GC
    • Preparing PowerPoint presentations for the GC

    Enhancing the operation of the Legal Department by:

    • Tracking contracts from the intake stage to final execution on a contract database, including use of Docusign
    • Assisting business teams with contract review procedures
    • Attending to filing and searching of hard and soft copies of legal documents
    • Tracking invoices (mostly legal) from the intake stage to final execution on an invoice database
    • Preparing PowerPoints and other presentations and materials
    • Assisting in the scheduling of Board meetings and preparation of Board meeting agendas, minutes and other materials
    • Assisting with corporate and fund regulatory filings in the US and international jurisdictions
    • Arranging courier services
    • Assisting Legal Team members on ad hoc projects as needed

    Assisting the Global Head of Risk Compliance by:

    • Proactively manage multiple calendars requiring extensive internal and external communication
    • Frequent interaction with Executive Management
    • Coordinate complex international travel
    • Compile extensive and frequent expense reports
    • Liaise with other departments on the execution of strategic projects
    • Approximately 80% support to the General Counsel and 20% to the Global Head of Risk and Compliance.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BA/BS degree preferred
    • Experience and track record of success as the legal administrative assistant supporting attorneys in-house or in private practice a plus, but not required
    • Strong work tenure - minimum 7 years of experience
    • Must have experience in formatting, editing and typing agreements
    • Excellent written English skills, including advanced grammar skills
    • Experience working in the financial services a plus
    • Must be a U.S citizen or authorized to work in the U.S on a permanent basis

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

    • Highest level Word skills and expertise, including document formatting and redlining required; must be quick and accurate
    • Strong Adobe Acrobat skills including the ability to edit and format PDF documents
    • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills preferred
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Strong aptitude and interest in learning
    • Ability to discern and meet aggressive deadlines
    • Must be able to anticipate needs and progress independently in completing tasks
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including oral comprehension skills, and solid interpersonal skills
    • Professional phone manner
    • Strong ethics and ability to use discretion and maintain confidential information
