Position Overview

Nova Classical STEM Academy seeks an energetic, student-centered Middle School Science Teacher (Grades 6–8) who is passionate about inquiry-based learning and committed to high academic standards. The ideal candidate fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific literacy while building strong relationships with students and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous instruction aligned to Florida B.E.S.T. Standards for Science
• Develop and implement engaging, inquiry-based and lab-centered lessons
• Integrate STEM, engineering design, and cross-curricular literacy strategies
• Use data-driven instruction to monitor student growth and adjust teaching practices
• Prepare students for state science assessments and advanced coursework
• Incorporate technology and digital tools to enhance learning
• Maintain a structured, positive classroom culture rooted in high expectations
• Communicate regularly with families regarding academic progress
• Participate in professional learning communities (PLCs) and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related field
• Valid Florida Teaching Certificate (Grades 6–12 Science or Middle Grades Science 5–9) or eligibility to obtain certification
• ESOL Endorsement (or willingness to obtain within required timeframe)

Preferred:

• Experience teaching middle school science
• STEM, robotics, coding, or engineering integration experience
• Gifted endorsement or experience differentiating instruction
• Strong classroom management skills
