Job Summary and Qualifications:


The Medical Staff Coordinator provides credentialing services for the Medical Staff Services department and is responsible for maintaining current, accurate records and reports.

The Medical Staff Coordinator functions as a liaison between department chairs and hospital departments on credentialing or other medical staff issues and may assist with multiple functions of the Medical Staff Services Department as required.


  • You will need strong analytical skills in order to handle moderately complex administrative details.
  • You will work collaboratively with physicians and hospital leadership to provide administrative support for all aspects of meeting management, including agenda preparation, minutes preparation, and followup for assigned medical staff committees and departments.
  • You will coordinate physician proctoring activities for all new medical staff members and medical staff members awarded new privileges that require monitoring to ensure program requirements are met within established timelines.
  • You will support initial, annual reviews, and renewal credentialing and privileging activities for Allied Health Professionals in a largely delegated environment.
  • You will monitor, suspend and unsuspend as necessary, AHPs and physicians in MediTech and Cactus for medical record delinquencies and expired documentation, in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, and Hospital policies and procedures
  • You will develop database reports (rosters, privileging, etc.) from Cactus in response to requests from Hospital/Medical Staff leadership to meet information needs of organization

What qualifications you will need:


  • High School or Equivalent required.
  • CPCS or CPMSM Certification preferred
  • 3years of prior experience in medical staff services field.
  • 2years acceptable experience if that includes participation in a major accreditation survey or if CPCS or CPMSM certified
  • CACTUS software experience strongly preferred.
