Description

Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Caregiver

Company: Community Options, Inc.

Description: Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency offering services to individuals with disabilities across 12 states. We are currently seeking compassionate individuals to join our team in Bloomsburg, PA, as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and Caregivers. This role involves providing personalized care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, fostering their independence and well-being.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Ability to build supportive relationships with those in care
Capable of making sound decisions in challenging situations
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Effective time management abilities
Flexibility in scheduling

Responsibilities:

Provide direct care according to Individual Support/Person-Centered Plans
Assist with daily activities, meal preparation, medication administration, and personal hygiene
Monitor health needs and report concerns promptly
Support learning and community integration
Engage individuals in social and recreational activities
Transport to appointments and outings
Maintain accurate program documentation
Establish and nurture community relationships
Maintain a safe and clean environment
Cooperate in inspections and investigations
Additional duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

Work in residential and community settings
Transport individuals using own or company vehicles
Varied schedules including evenings and weekends
Overtime may be required
Occasional lifting or moving of items over 25 pounds
