THE POSITION:

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

As a Corrections Utility Plant Operator, you are responsible for supervising inmates and maintaining proper security while ensuring work is performed under safe operating procedures.

Duties include reading and interpreting gauges, meters, and sensing devices, as well as cleaning and maintaining equipment.

Also, you provide heat and hot water for institutional needs by maintaining boiler operations, including generation of medium pressure steam.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Fulltime employment, 40hour work week
Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM (rotating shifts and days off).
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 5

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant;
or:
An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirement:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirement:

You must pass a background investigation.
