The Opportunity:

We are seeking a hands-on Process Technician (PT) to join our team.

Reporting to the PMD Supervisor, the (PT) will be tasked to maintain and create standard injection molding processes within the PMD department.

The (PT) will work diligently to understand and perform the daily job duties which supports Mayzon and the PMD Department by following the safety, quality, and production guidelines.

This is an opportunity for a self-starter who comes with proven abilities in working with injection molding. The (PT) will ensure that the work is done carefully and efficiently. The (PT) plays a critical roleinmanaging and reducing costs in cycle times and by minimizing scrap.

Making as many good parts and meeting specifications as fast and as accurately as possible is the key to success in this role.

Teaching and coaching Set Up Technicians and consulting management regarding issues encountered is essential.

Major Tasks - Responsibilities Include:

Establish and monitor parameters for all injection molding machines and processes.
Including Robots
Including all auxiliary equipment necessary
Perform sampling of all new tools and resins.
Optimize molding processes and cycles to achieve or exceed standard cycle times and part quality.
Troubleshoot process challenges, product defects, both visual and dimensional.
Perform mold installations and removals as needed.
Starting and stopping of machines as directed/needed.
Work with Tool and Die department to maintain defect free products.
Work with the maintenance department on all machine /mold/equipment issues.
Support the department 5S and housekeeping standards and implementation.
Perform preventive maintenance of all tools that are in the molding machines.
Establish and maintain documentation relevant to molding set up and processes.
Any assignment as directed per management within the scope of personal capabilities.

Indirect Tasks:

Perform housekeeping.
Color, additive, and resin changes.
Teach, instruct, and otherwise educate set up technicians(s)
Coverage of technical personnel vacation on off shifts as needed.
Support new product/project planning and implementation within the department/facility.
Assist others in the cleaning / repairing of molds out of the press.

Qualifications:

Familiarity with various resins

Primarily:
Polypropylene, High impact Polystyrene, High Density Polyethylene

Familiarity with various molding machines. Primarily Toshiba, Husky, and Engel
Demonstrated ability to write legibly, to maintain records, and follow oral and written instructions.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Available to work overtime, including weekends and vacation coverages.
Ability to communicate in English effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
Understanding of basic computer programs.
Comfortable in the use of walkies and sitdown forklift. Training to be provided if necessary.
Able to lift 50 lbs. frequently. Physically capable to assist with the moving and handling of tooling components.
