- Serves as a clinical resource/mentor/educator to the PACT LPN's for routine and complex care of Veterans as well as a resource for medical equipment usage, maintenance and repair.
- Provides direction and clinical oversight to the PACT LPN's.
- Assists with staffing assignments, assignment changes and scheduled leave.
- Evaluates the impact of staff assignments.
- Assists with the work assignments of students and volunteers in the clinic setting.
- Ensures standards of care and LPN performance is met by orientation of assigned staff, evaluating educational needs, performing competency evaluations of PACT LPN's and evaluating adherence to the LPN Scope of Practice.
- Assists staff in order to prioritize the overall care needs and adjusts the plan of care as needed.
- Prepares and administers prescribed medications.
- Performs treatments, procedures and the use and reprocessing of reusable medical equipment appropriate to assigned duties.

Summary
The Lead Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), GS-7 performs complex nursing care for adult and geriatric patients with a variety of physical, mental, behavioral or psychological needs and serves as a leader, mentor and preceptor within the Primary Care setting of the Fargo VA Health Care System.
Duties
The LPN GS-7 work is of considerable difficulty and responsibility is performed under general supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or provider. The LPN is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Primary Care clinic and possesses the knowledge and skills for ongoing support of PACT principles and role development of the LPN in Primary Care. Individuals in these positions will be self-directed in planning, implementing and evaluating tasks and programs assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday,
Recruitment Incentive: Recruitment incentive authorized for eligible, highly qualified applicants. A service agreement is required for all relocation incentives.
Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of existing pay, higher or unique qualifications, or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)
Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
