    Description

    Position Overview:

    The Product Design Engineer will be directly involved in all stages of New Product Introduction projects from concept generation to product launch.

    This position will also drive the improvement in quality and cost of existing product lines.

    The primary responsibilities of the Product Design Engineer will include, but are not limited to, designing, prototyping, and validating new products, specifying materials and manufacturing processes for new or existing designs, and collaborating with other departments to meet project goals and objectives.


    Major Duties and Responsibilities:
    Design engineered solutions used in the manufacturing of residential and vehicle seating products for new products and to drive improvements in quality performance and costParticipate in and lead development teams in meeting project goals at cost targets and completing on-time to established schedulesSpecify materials and manufacturing processes for new or existing designsValidate designs using engineering calculations or analysis softwareConduct or coordinate product testing to ensure compliance with internal and industry quality performance standardsAssist in prototyping and trialing new product designs or improvementsCreate drawings and other product documentation for use by PD&E, Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, and Merchandising Process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) as assigned in a timely mannerUnderstand and stay informed with Intellectual Property (IP) in the furniture industry Enter and maintain product data in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems as neededOther duties as assigned by supervisor Up to 10% domestic/international travel required
