Description

Summary:

Performs WIC clerical duties including income, residential, and identification screening of WIC participants. Perform QA assistance and individual or group training to WIC staff.


Travel required using personal vehicle.

Work hours are Monday - Friday, 9am-6pm with one (1) Saturday a month (8am-5pm)
Grant funded.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Greets the general public and provides routine information or refer to appropriate information source.
  • Provides information to client in person and by phone, referring to appropriate information source.
  • Assists with laboratory testing and evaluation of immunization records.
  • Provides continued training of personnel on WIC policy and procedure changes as assigned.
  • Participates in the training of new and current personnel as assigned.
  • Performs computer and manual record keeping.
  • Answers multiphone lines and provides information or refer to appropriate information source.
  • Participates in employee selections as needed.
  • Stays updated on all WIC requirements through attendance at required meetings and training sessions.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Two (2) full-time years of clerical work experience, WIC experience preferred.

  • Experience with public presentations and teaching skills preferred.
  • Computer knowledge for data entry; very proficient with keyboarding, word processing and/or spreadsheet software.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Must be able to work without constant supervision.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, push and pull.
