- Train equipment operators and carton packers/box handlers in the specifics of their job functions.
- Ensure timely and efficient equipment set-ups, changeovers, and start-ups to minimize production delays.
- Report daily production accurately and promptly, including labor and materials used.
- Regularly monitor production effectiveness for quality and quantity and take proactive actions to minimize downtime and excessive spoilage.
- Collaborate with other departments to help solve problems and foster cooperation in support of Kaufman Container objectives.
- Promote facility, equipment, and employee safety, including reporting problems, conditions, and hazards that cannot be immediately rectified.
- Evaluate employee effectiveness, determine individual needs for improvement, issue disciplinary action as appropriate, recommend merit increases, and suggest hiring and discharging actions to the production manager.
- Enforce company policies.
- Perform a variety of tasks as necessary to support production objectives in the absence of personnel normally assigned to accomplish those tasks.
- Undertake special projects as requested.
- Assist in the development of new products, tooling, processes, and materials.
- Participate in developing, refining, and writing procedures, forms, and work instructions.
- Display all machine schedules.
- Heat Shrink Labeling experience required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in computer skills.
- Four years of industrial experience.
- Effective communication, math, and interpersonal skills.
- Must have normal color vision.
- Able to read 5 or 6 point font.
