Corewell Health Zeeland Hospital is a 55-bed, not-for-profit organization located in West Michigan that serves the Greater Hudsonville, Holland, and Zeeland communities.
Scope of Work
The Pharmacy Technician, under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, processes, prepares, and delivers medications and supplies, working with multiple medication automation systems.

Job Summary
Under the direction of a Pharmacist, provides technical assistance, processing and preparing medications and supplies. Works with multiple medication automation systems. Delivers medications and supplies to patient care areas. Triages phone calls and messages from multidisciplinary team members. Able to work in complex pharmacy areas (satellites, sterile product compounding, controlled substance handling, inventory management).
Essential Functions
Prepares supplies / medication, including complex sterile formulations under the direction of a Pharmacist. May prepare hazardous or biologic products when properly trained and competencies are passed.
Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging.
Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law.
Maintains a clean and organized work area.
Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications. Completes all Spectrum Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.
Qualifications
Required High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Associate's Degree
Hospital experience Preferred
LIC-Pharmacy Technician Temp - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATE_MI State of Michigan 90 Days required Or
LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
CRT-Pharmacy Technician, Certified (CPHT) - PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board 90 Days required Or
CRT-Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) - NHA National Healthcareer Association 90 Days required
Ideal candidate will possess Full Pharmacy Technician License and/or National Certification, such as PTCB as well as Inpatient Pharmacy experience
Will consider Retail and other Pharmacy experience as well
Schedule will be within Monday to Friday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Every 4th Weekend between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
