Are you looking for interesting and meaningful work, a fun atmosphere, and opportunities to learn, grow, and excel? Schnabel is seeking a Staff/Senior Staff Engineer with expertise and practical experience in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology to support our growing Portland office.
The Portland office of Schnabel focuses on the evaluation and design of dams, structures, and facilities as well as advancing our practice of risk informed decision making within our dam engineering group.
Example projects include the inspection, evaluation and design of embankment and concrete dams, spillways, outlet works, and instrumentation, and performing risk assessments for dam owners for sites located across the United States.
Perform geotechnical analysis and assessments, and prepare reports that clearly document, support and communicate the work donePreparation of design calculations and drawings (sketches) using AutoCAD and MicroStation and providing design support during construction.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or Engineering Geology)
Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel, including assignments that may last several days to months away from the office
Prior internship or professional work in a related field (i.e. geotechnical engineering, construction, civil engineering, etc.)
Master's degree in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, or a related field
