The Acacia Center for Justice (Acacia) provides legal support and representation to immigrants facing deportation through the development, coordination, and management of national networks of legal services providers serving immigrants across the country
Acacias goals are twofold:
to support immigrant legal services and defense networks to provide exceptional legal services to immigrants; and to advocate for the expansion of these programs and the infrastructure critical to guaranteeing immigrants access to justice, fairness, and freedom.
Acacia ensures accountable, independent, zealous, and person-centered legal services and representation to protect the rights of all immigrants.Job Summary:
The Program Analyst (PA) will play a key role in the launch and management of a new, federally funded legal access program (LASRF Program) that provides legal orientation services and pro bono placement and mentoring to class members in Ms.
The PA will divide their time between the Program Operations and Learning & Development teams to provide support and oversight to subcontractors carrying out the LASRF program.
The PA will also, together with the Program Director, LASRF, and others on the team, monitor compliance with Acacias contractual obligations to federal government partners and subcontractors, provide technical assistance, and conducts program evaluation.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintain stakeholder relations and act as lead point person on LASRF network communications, including sending updates on the applicable orientation program listserv as necessary, and assisting in the coordination of meetings between legal service providers, Acacia, and Stakeholders.
Coordinate and support the LASFR Program Operations and Learning & Development Teams, as well as other units within Acacia on varied projects, including annual contracting with legal service providers, onboarding and offboarding legal services organizations and their staff, SharePoint, language access needs, and new projects.
Maintain and update the applicable orientation program SharePoint dashboards with relevant updates.Support monthly LASFR network conference calls by coordinating scheduling of calls, emailing reminders, facilitating conference calls, recording the conference calls, and drafting and finalizing notes on a monthly basis.
Support the Program Manager with on-site training programs, conferences, and webinars including logistical planning for such events, technical and other hands-on support during events, and post-event evaluation.
Review non-legal program materials distributed by legal service providers to pro bono attorneys and pro se respondents in immigration proceedings.
These materials may include videos, flyers, handouts, and guides. Provide review of materials in Spanish and translate documents between Spanish and English, as necessary.Regularly update referral lists, tracking sheets, site lists, and site maps.
Regularly develop and maintain internal, external, and program manuals.
Assist in preparing regular and ad hoc reports to government partners and review and analyze quantitative and qualitative program information received from program partners and other stakeholders.
Complete other tasks as assigned, including those to support other units within Acacia or the development and launch of new programs within Acacia as needed.
Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Fluency in Spanish required, including the ability to translate documents between English and Spanish and draft documents in Spanish.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects effectively and efficiently, both independently and collaboratively.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
Ability to work with people of diverse experiences and backgrounds.
Deep commitment to race equity and inclusion.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Demonstrated commitment to legal access and due process for people in deportation proceedings.
Experience with "know your rights" or other community education initiatives.
Willing to complete an NCIC background check.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree or associates degree or comparable work experience equivalent to 2-4 years of education.
Comparable work and educational experience will also be considered, particularly where the candidate has direct experience with the immigration legal system and has been personally impacted by it
Compensation and Benefits:
Acacia has established an internal compensation philosophy that centers equity and pay transparency.
The salary for this position is set at $65,000.
The salary listed is just one component of Acacias total compensation package for employees. Supporting Acacia staffboth personally and professionallyis our priority.
