    Description


    SummaryThe position of Machinist 4/5 Axis is responsible for the operation, set-up & utilization of the 4/5-Axis milling machines as well as other processes used.

    Essential FunctionsInspect manufactured components for conformance to specificationsAbility to set up and operate CNC Milling Machines, including but not limited to 4 and 5-AxisSupport for programming, ensuring proper use of programs & toolsAbility to work from travelers, blueprints, set up sheets, drawings, and/or verbal instructions as well as limited judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals.

    Able to use appropriate measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, plug gages, etc.
    Maintain a clean work area daily as required.


    RequirementsRequired:
    Able to understand complex machining theory and strategyAbility to manage and prioritize a high number of set-ups and short-run jobsAble to understand and interrogate complex mechanical drawings and tolerancesAbility to use common machine shop hand and measurement toolsAbility to set-up and run multiple CNC Machines in a fast-paced environmentFixture design, fabrication, and manual machining experience is a plusAbility to read, write and speak effectively in EnglishUnderstand and follow Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance standard (GD&T)

    Strong math skills requiredAerospace manufacturing experience: 10 yrs. minimum experience)Prior experience in an aerospace prototype/ job shop environment preferredSelf-motivation, able to accomplish a high level of workTeam player, actively participating in continuous improvement projects with coworkers.
