As an Overnight Security Officer at Hyatt Regency Sacramento, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and hotel property during the night shift.

Your primary duty will be to patrol the premises, monitor surveillance cameras, and respond to any security incidents or emergencies that may arise.

You will also provide a visible presence to deter potential criminal activity and enforce hotel policies and procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrol the interior and exterior of the hotel premises regularly throughout the night to maintain a secure environment.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to any suspicious activity or security breaches.
  • Respond promptly to guest and employee requests for assistance and resolve any securityrelated issues or concerns.
  • Conduct routine inspections of hotel facilities, including guest floors, corridors, stairwells, and parking areas, to ensure they are secure and free from hazards.
  • Maintain accurate records of securityrelated incidents, including thefts, disturbances, and medical emergencies, and report them to the appropriate authorities and hotel management.
  • Assist with the enforcement of hotel policies and procedures, including access control, noise regulations, and emergency evacuation protocols.
  • Provide escort services for guests and employees as needed, especially during latenight hours or in secluded areas of the property.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments, including front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance, to address security concerns and coordinate responses to emergencies.
  • Stay updated on security best practices, industry trends, and local regulations to enhance the effectiveness of security operations.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for the hotel by providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
This is an hourly position with a compensation of $20.69 per hour.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in security or law enforcement preferred.
  • Prior experience in hotel security, law enforcement, or military service is highly desirable.
  • Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with guests, employees, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations and make quick, sound decisions under pressure.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform regular patrols and respond to emergencies quickly and efficiently.
  • Proficiency in operating security equipment, such as surveillance cameras, twoway radios, and access control systems.
  • Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by the needs of the hotel.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing hotel security, including fire safety codes and emergency response protocols.
