Responsibilities
Responsibilities include advising and supporting students in all aspects of the college admission process including:
- Counsel students on appropriate course selection for each grade level during annual course advising meetings
- Guide students in their college research and provide additional and ongoing individual support by seeking out best fit colleges for each student
- Coordinate and present at student seminars, evening presentations, Coffee with the Counselors, and other collegerelated events.
- Lead college prep seminars for freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors
- Instruct teachers in the use of Scoir for writing and submitting teacher recommendations
- Participate in opportunities for continuous learning including local and national associations such as NACAC and WACAC to remain current on trends in college admissions
- Develop and maintain relationships with colleges and universities
- Be an active and engaged member of the QLS community
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree, Master's degree is preferred
- At least three years of experience in selective college admissions and/or a background in college counseling in independent schools
- Extensive and indepth knowledge of the college admissions and financial aid processes and an understanding of the current college admissions landscape
- Passionate about secondary and postsecondary education as well as building positive relationships with domestic and international high school students and families
- Highly effective communication and presentation skills
Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Pay:
$65, $85,000.00 per year
