This position is primarily responsible for helping examine and treat patients under the direction of the Physician or Nurse Practitioner by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Experience with Athena EMR is preferred but not mandatory
  • Assist in front administrative tasks.
  • Ensure cleanliness of patients' waiting area and front office area.
  • Perform all required triage duties (vitals, height/weight, etc.)
  • Direct patients to available examination rooms.
  • Ensure rooms are set up
  • Ensure each room is cleaned after each patient encounter.
  • Assist Physician with patient care when requested.
  • Administer medications under a doctor's supervision.
  • Replenish supplies in the exam rooms.
  • Ensure patient flow is efficient and organized.
  • Discharge patients from the room with instructions.
  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts.
  • Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests.
  • Schedules appointments, keeps xray and other medical records, performs secretarial tasks, and completes insurance forms.
  • Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.

  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:_
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associates Degree/Certification preferred or cumulative experience
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Understanding of the concepts of universal precautions, HIPAA, and OSHA
  • Team player who is equally comfortable working independently
  • Warm, friendly attitude with excellent patient interaction skills
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills, adaptable in different situations, possesses excellent client interaction skills, and able to multitask.'
