BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn is NYC's longest-running, free performance festival, and a beloved summer tradition featuring approximately 25 varied large-scale performances and attracting upwards of 200,000 people each summer to the Prospect Park Bandshell.


About the Production Coordinator Role:


The Production Coordinator will provide support to the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn production team throughout a summer of performing arts programming at the Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect Park.

The team is committed to high-level production values and safety, and the Production Coordinator will support to contribute to a positive artist, audience, and co-worker experience.


What You'll Do in the Role:
The Production Coordinator will be responsible for the following in addition to any other project as assigned by their manager, the Production Director, BCB:

  • Work directly with the Production Director, Producer, Technical Director, Stage Manager, Lighting Director, Audio Engineers and other staff.
  • Coordinate and implement audio/ lighting/ video/ staging technical needs.
  • Department assignments based on experience and preference.
  • Work with vendors, suppliers, performers' technicians and thirdparty clients to ensure overall success of every production.
  • Support the team to ensure that production development goals, milestones, budgets, and timelines are met and accurately executed.
  • Brainstorm with the team about creative solutions to save time and money, or will enhance the overall goal of the production.
  • Meet regularly with internal and external collaborators, on and off site.
  • Attend and colead production meetings and take clear and concise notes.
  • Manage invoices and make sure deadlines are met.
  • Order and track additional sound, lighting and production needs for artist in a timely manner

Working with the Production Director, ensure timely execution of:

  • Maintain clear lines of communication between vendors, strategic partners and internal teams.
  • Coordinate schedules, budgets, assets, and overall project organization to ensure scheduled work calls and deliverables are clearly communicated, understood and executed on time.
  • Research suppliers and vendors, compare quotes, confirm contracts and ensure payment.
  • Participate in final budget reconciliation.
  • Manage schedules, including sending daily and weekly schedules and communicating schedule changes.
  • Work with Production Director to communicate the schedule to the crew.
  • Coordinate transportation needs.

Physical Demands:


  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Willingness to work outdoors, early mornings, late nights, long days, and weekend shifts, and to work in inclement weather.

Experience & Qualifications:


  • Some experience working in production for live events is preferred.
  • The ability to work handson and act as an organized selfstarter, which will take part in making the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn Festival come to life.
  • This role will require strong problem solving skills, and the ability to confidently handle the administrative and project management tasks that help make the season run smoothly.

Compensation:The hourly rate for this position is $25/hr. Meals provided on show days.
