Job Summary:


At Village Super Markets Gourmet Garage Central Kitchen (GGCK), the Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QC/QA) Technician plays a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing product quality and safety standards.

Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager, this position is essential for ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, personnel uniform and hygiene, and USDA minimum requirements through proactive coaching and training of associates and Team room leaders.

The QC/QA Technician assists in the distribution of supplies and supports the continuous improvement of quality assurance practices.

Furthermore, the QC/QA Technician must be committed to uphold the highest standards of quality and safety in the food production environment.


Job Function:


The primary function of this role is to assess various rooms for cleanliness before operation, train team members, and monitor processes.

The QC/QA Tech is responsible for communication non compliances to QA Manager.

The QC/QA Tech is responsible for direct observation of proper temperature controls within departments, assists in supply distribution and direction of sanitation staff.

The QA/QC associate will report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.


Responsibilities:

Subject but not limited to

  • Provide coaching to associates and team room leaders on compliance with food safety, sanitation, personnel uniform, hygiene, and USDA minimum requirements. This includes conducting training sessions and continuous education to ensure all team members are knowledgeable and compliant with the necessary standards.
  • Conduct preoperational assessments of various rooms within the facility to ensure cleanliness and readiness for production. Monitor ongoing processes to ensure adherence to established procedures, particularly in maintaining proper temperature controls within different departments.
  • Responsible for effectively communicating noncompliance issues and other critical information to the Quality Assurance Manager in a timely manner. This includes the direct reporting of facility walks and regular updates on departmental compliance status.
  • Assist in the distribution of supplies and provide direction to the sanitation staff to ensure that all areas are properly equipped and maintained. Keep track of sanitation and safety supply inventory to ensure that resources are adequately stocked.
  • Assist in communications with the onsite USDA inspector as necessary, facilitating a smooth and compliant operational environment.
  • Support team tasks including the organization and management of QA documents, files, and logistics. Communicate report results accurately and efficiently to support department goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager, which may include special projects or initiatives aimed at improving quality and safety standards within the facility. Conduct various facility walks to oversee and monitor compliance throughout the operation.

Experience and Skills Required:


  • Must have a foundational understanding of food preparation techniques and be wellversed in food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Strong capability in using Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, to manage data, create presentations, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role, enabling effective collaboration with team members and clear reporting of findings and recommendations.
  • Must have organizational skills coupled with a keen analytical mindset. The ability to assess complex situations and derive logical, datadriven conclusions is crucial.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments simultaneously without compromising the quality of work and adherence to deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to the specific programs and procedures at the Village Supermarket GGCK, showing flexibility and a readiness to embrace new methods and technologies as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:


  • Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending inperson meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
  • Ability to regularly travel to multiple retail locations as needed.
  • Job requires the ability to work in an office and retail environment with frequent sitting, standing, and walking as necessary.
  • May occasionally be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
  • Ability to tolerate refrigerated temperatures.

Pay:
$ $18.00 per hour
