    Currently, we are seeking experienced Go/Java Back End Engineers to be part of our People & Finance Technology team. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about building high-performance, low maintenance platforms and applications that ensure zero downtime.

    As a Senior Go/Java Back End Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our engineering department, collaborating closely with the team as we expand our operations in this field. Your contribution will be essential in driving our insurance business transformation from traditional IT to a tech-savvy organization focused on engineering excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and psychological safety.

    The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of back-end systems, with expertise in Java and/or Go, Linux, Microservices, Containers (Kubernetes), and PostgreSQL database modeling, performance tuning, and query optimization.

    Position Responsibilities

    • Utilize programming languages such as Java and/or Go, Docker, and Kubernetes to design advanced-level Java applications and PostgreSQL databases with minimal supervision
    • Design and implement scalable and resilient distributed systems
    • Work on product definitions and leverage technical skills to deliver optimal solutions
    • Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle
    • Lead design sessions and code reviews to enhance engineering quality across the organization
    • Create and support reusable application and database components
    • Mentor fellow engineers and share best practices
    • Improve processes and practices within and across teams

    Qualifications

    • Expertise in modern languages like Java, Go, Python, and/or Spark with solid knowledge of object-oriented design
    • Understanding of microservices architecture and extensible REST APIs
    • Proficiency in PostgreSQL database design, implementation, and management
    • Familiarity with Kubernetes or a willingness to learn
    • Advanced SQL scripting skills
    • Experience with developer tools and DevOps concepts
    • Ability to design and scale new and existing systems
    • Knowledge of application monitoring tools and performance evaluation
    • Understanding of security protocols and products such as OAuth and Active Directory
    • Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code
    • Strong grasp of CS data structures and algorithms

    Experience

    • Minimum 4 years of software development experience working with Java frameworks
    • At least 3 years of architecture and design experience
    • 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
    • 2+ years of open-source framework experience

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant field
