- Manage business filing and reporting requirements in all relevant jurisdictions
- Prepare personal property tax returns across multiple jurisdictions
- Maintain Robert J. Kutak Foundation accounting records and reporting
- Track gross receipts in various jurisdictions to ensure complete and accurate filing of returns and remittance of tax due
- Reconcile various tax general ledger accounts
- File unclaimed property reports and remit payments to states
- Assist senior management with various research projects, tax preparation and reporting, and process improvement and implementation
- Payroll duties as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to understand and apply all mathematical functions necessary to produce compliant tax and regulatory returns and reports.
- Ability to efficiently read, understand and apply complex literature relating to, but not limited to tax, financial, and regulatory reporting.
- The ability to effectively communicate and present tax, accounting, financial and other business-related information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with MS Office Suite or related software
- Ability to handle highly sensitive data with confidentiality and integrity; ability to exercise professional judgement
- Flexibility and ability to accept changing priorities and meet time commitments
- Ability to establish effective working relationships throughout the firm through excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive work environment
- Bachelor's degree in either Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in corporate or public accounting
- Experience with general ledger and accounts reconciliation
- 8+ years of experience with multi-state and federal compliance and tax reporting
