    Microsoft's Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Capacity, Supply Chain & Provisioning (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth.

    CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.


    We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer II to join the CSCP blockchain team and lead the development of blockchain-based solutions for supply chain challenges in the high-tech industry.

    In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and implementing blockchain-based systems that are decentralized, immutable and improve supply chain visibility, security, and efficiency.

    You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, identify blockchain use cases, and develop scalable solutions that deliver measurable value.

    Responsibilities

    Lead the development of blockchain-based systems.
    Develop technical specifications, architecture, and implementation plans.
    Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
    Design, develop, and implement RESTful APIs using , ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.
    Design, deploy, and manage applications on Kubernetes clusters, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and high availability.
    Implement monitoring and observability solutions using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.

    Implement security best practices for Kubernetes, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), network policies, and secrets management, to safeguard sensitive data.

    Integrate Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines that automate the build, test, and deployment of applications to Kubernetes clusters.
    Identify and address performance bottlenecks, security concerns, and other technical challenges throughout the development process.
    Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and maintaining code quality standards.
    Ensure that blockchain solutions comply with regulatory and compliance requirements.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and incorporate user feedback, enhancing application features and functionalities.

    Utilize open-source technologies, libraries, and tools and stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, bringing fresh ideas and insights to the team.

    Qualifications

    Required/Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    OR equivalent experience.
    2+ years of Distributed Systems experience

    Other Qualifications

    Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role.

    These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

    Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

    This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.

    Preferred/Additional Qualifications

    2+ years of hands-on experience in designing and developing blockchain applications.
    2+ years of hands-on experience developing applications using
    Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related front-end technologies
    Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for blockchain development, such as Solidity (Ethereum), Go, Rust, or others.
    Knowledge of deploying smart contracts to blockchain networks and managing contract upgrades.
    Comprehensive understanding of the underlying concepts of distributed ledgers and consensus algorithms.
    Familiarity with blockchain platforms like Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, Binance Smart Chain, or similar.
    Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

    Software Engineering IC- The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year.

    There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
