Crane Aerospace and Electronics is seeking to hire a Supplier Quality Engineer in Burbank, CAJob Summary:
The Supplier Quality Engineer works with minimal supervision and uses originality, ingenuity and established procedures to support the Crane Supplier Quality Management Strategy.
The Supplier Quality Engineer is also responsible for developing and implementing a supplier quality improvement and monitoring process that optimizes the supplier performance, product quality, and business qualification with Crane.
Essential Functions:
Interface with both suppliers and customers regarding supplier nonconformancesManage OEM customer returns for supplied parts which are custom designed for CraneLiaise with Special Process (OSP) suppliers regarding defects and conduct onsite assessments with NADCAP checklist when necessaryPartner with Supply Chain Director and other leadership team members to determine annual supplier quality objectivesLead supplier Quarterly Business Reviews by supporting the Supply Chain team in assessing supplier performance, monitoring corrective action status, and driving supplier to continuous improvementLiaise with internal teams and suppliers to assure that quality issues are addressed and corrective actions are in place and being properly managed to assure root cause analysis and corrective action reportingConduct onsite assessments of suppliers' quality system and process control capability, and drive implementation of improvement plansTrain and work with suppliers to develop quality control plans for assigned commodities and drive implementationConduct first article and first batch audit inspectionsAny other task assigned by supervisor or managementNon-Essential Functions:Prepare management reports and presentations regarding quality status and supplier performance Support Material Review Board (MRB)
Actively engage and understand trends in the industry's approach to quality and new approaches that may provide benefit to BU Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: 4years of related experience, including experience in Global sourcing Knowledge: Broad knowledge of the marketplace and manufacturing technologies; In depth knowledge of supplier qualification processes and supplier performance metrics; Knowledge of the latest quality science tools including, FMEA, GR&R, Control plans, Capability study and reduction of variations; Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models; Exposure to lean concepts (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Leadership, 5S, etc); Knows and applies advanced concepts, practices and procedures of assigned product or program; Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures Skills/Abilities: Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; Demonstrated analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact based decisions; Demonstrated ability to perform and produce results in multifunctional teams in a dynamic work environment; Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships and influence up, down, and across organizational lines; Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish goals based on experience and judgmentEducation/Certification: BA or BS degree in technical discipline
Eligibility Requirement:

Preferred Qualifications:
ASQC certifications and knowledge of SPC Previous experience working in regulated environment with a preference of FAA CFR 14 part 21 and part 145 Lean/Six Sigma certification (black belt or green belt)
