Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


The Distribution Center Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the receiving operations at the distribution center, ensuring that all inbound shipments are received, processed, and stored accurately and efficiently.

In addition, this person is responsible for filling in the pick path inventory to keep pickers.

This role requires a strong understanding of receiving processes, inventory management, and warehouse operations, as well as experience in leading and developing a team of receiving associates.

The Distribution Center Receiving Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining the pick path with appropriate inventory stock, ensuring that orders can be fulfilled quickly and accurately.


  • Oversee and manage the receiving operations at the distribution center, ensuring that all inbound shipments are received, processed, and stored accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage a team of receiving associates, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of inbound shipments.
  • Ensure that all receiving processes are compliant with safety, quality, and operational standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including supply chain, logistics, and quality, to identify and resolve operational issues and improve processes.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee cycle counting and inventory reconciliation processes.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for receiving operations, including productivity, accuracy, and ontime delivery.
  • Ensure that all equipment, tools, and materials used in receiving operations are properly maintained and stored.
  • Maintain the pick path with appropriate inventory stock, ensuring that orders can be fulfilled quickly and accurately.

Requirements:


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in receiving operations, inventory management, and warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of receiving processes, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a crossfunctional team environment.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and make datadriven decisions.
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills.

  • Preferred but not required to have a background in training on the use of forklift, reach truck, and/or pallet riders.

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Regularly requires bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items.
  • Regularly requires standing, walking, and/or lifting/handling/carrying materials or equipment of moderate weight (up to 50 pounds)

Environment:


Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, tools with sharp edges, loud noise, chemicals, and fumes which may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.
