Clinical Supervisor position at
The Hannigan. The Hannigan is located in Central Harlem and provides 116 units of affordable and supportive permanent housing for formerly homeless and low-income families and individuals.

The Hannigan is a beautiful building, newly constructed in 2021 that is 12 stories tall. It has 24-hour security, a computer lab, fitness room, bike room, teaching kitchen and rooftop garden.

The Hannigan also has an indoor playroom for children and an enclosed rear yard that has a playground and seating.

The Hannigan provides tenants with on-site Janian psychiatric treatment and primary medical care.

Services Specific to Families

The staff at The Hannigan are provided with training specific to working with families.

Over the past few years, with the assistance of a grant from the OAK Foundation, CUCS has developed its approach in working with families.

A consultant with experience in the field works directly with the team to provide on-site trainings for all staff in the following areas:


  • Collaborating with all family members to maintain safe and nurturing households and communities.
  • Collaborating with parents to help strengthen the family system.
  • Collaborating with families in fostering success in education.
  • Assisting families to take full advantage of the resources in the community to develop a supportive social network.


The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of a clinical services housing team comprised of a licensed social worker and two case managers.

Each staff manages a caseload of approximately 12 individuals who were formerly living on the street and in subways in New York City.

This position has significant decision making, supervisory, administrative, program management and service delivery responsibilities including but not limited to site management, program development, inter-team coordination and contract/policy compliance.

This person will be expected to participate in and contribute to a program culture that is client-centered, outcome-oriented and dedicated to continuous quality improvement.

The position requires a thorough understanding of relevant service delivery concepts and structures, including strong knowledge and experience working with the street homeless population.


Responsibilities:


  • Clinical and administrative supervision of day to day operations of the building and clinical services team
  • Oversight of the program's contractual obligations
  • Maintenance of appropriate staff levels to ensure consistent service delivery to clients
  • Review of referrals from outreach teams and coordination of intake
  • Collaboration with building management and security staff around maintenance and other siterelated matters
  • Oncall support to the program during evening and weekend hours

  • LMSW or Mental Health Counselor Limited Permit or Marriage and Family Therapy Limited Permit
  • Relevant pre or post Master's experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred


  • Clinical Supervisor

  • 2 years relevant pre or post Master's experience required
  • Supervisory experience preferred


  • Clinical Supervisor

  • LCSW, LMHC, LMFC
  • Relevant pre or post Master's experience in supervisory experienced preferred
OR

  • LMSW or Mental Health Counselor Limited Permit or Marriage and Family Therapy Limited Permit
  • 2 years supervisory experience in any field
  • 4 years relevant experience in social services
  • Supervisory experience in the field of housing or homeless services
  • Strong crisis intervention skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy
  • Ability to interface effectively and efficiently with colleagues to ensure quality services and program operations.
  • Commitment to utilization of a housing first and personcentered approach in working with clients
  • Experience with DHS CARES preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
