The role of the School District Liaison is to collaborate with school districts, host agencies and SEIS staff so that students can make a successful transition into SEIS with appropriate services in place, and can make a successful transition from the SEIS program to the student's next educational setting.
Responsibilities include communicating with and supporting districts with convening Team meetings to develop, propose, and implement appropriate IEPs consistent with applicable timelines and regulations, reviewing IEPs and communicating with responsible school districts regarding services SEIS cannot provide and in select cases, communicating with districts regarding required student coursework that SEIS does not provide and coordinating a plan for district provision of such coursework.
Opportunity to support the educational journeys of a very resilient population of students, while being a member of an experienced and supportive team.
Although this position covers programs predominantly in the Northeast, the majority of meetings may be done virtually and will not involve onsite participation.
This position currently has the ability to work remotely for up to two days a week, at the discretion of the SDL Coordinator.
Bachelor's Degree from accredited College or University, Masters Degree desirableMassachusetts Special Education license required
