Summer Learning School - Middle Substitute Teacher 2024 (Up to 10 positions)


Prep Dates [NOT PD DAYS]:
July 2, 2024


Program Dates:
July - August 2, 2024

Hours:
Monday - Friday from 7:30 am - 1:30 pm


PPSD seeks summer program substitute instructors who are committed to the success of all students, especially those who have struggled during the school year.

Summer learning program instructors must be committed to differentiating instruction and personalizing learning to engage all students.


$40.00 per hour (Contingent upon funding)

RIDE Requirements

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND CURRICULAR LINKAGES:

  • Create a fun, engaging and safe learning environment for students in absence of their teacher
  • Implement lesson plans provided by the class teacher or monitor students engaged in online credit recovery
  • Provide direct service for whole group, small group, and individual instruction based on student needs
  • Supervise students in a range of settings; protect and promote the safety and wellbeing of students, colleagues, equipment, materials/facilities
  • Communicate and interact appropriately and professionally with students, colleagues, parents and the community
  • Promote a school atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of all students
  • Support the summer program leadership team
  • Must commit to working all days of program

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS:


  • Excellent classroom management skills with a welcoming and inclusive attitude
  • A desire to work with diverse groups of students in age and abilities
  • An assetbased view of diverse cultures and a belief in growth mindset
  • Must have superior interpersonal communication and written skills
  • Experience with managing instruction
  • Experience in an urban schools preferred
