    Description

    Job Description

    S2 Manufacturing is seeking a skilled Design Engineer to contribute to the continuous enhancement of our range of stationary and mobile machinery. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team to create and incorporate modifications to both current and new designs. It's a role based at our company headquarters at 15075 Aljon Ave. in Ottumwa, IA. The Design Engineer will have the following key responsibilities:

    • Designing and specifying components, weldments, machining, and assembly blueprints using CAD software
    • Overseeing designs from inception through prototyping to production
    • Addressing production challenges and devising resolutions
    • Developing and managing bill of materials (BOM)
    • Collaborating with service staff to identify causes of component failures
    • Working closely with teammates in a collaborative setting

    Qualifications

    • Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Design Engineering
    • Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks

    Preferred Skills

    • Capability to pinpoint the origin of flawed parts
    • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision
    • Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems and part serviceability
    • Strong problem-solving abilities
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Effective time and resource management for timely delivery of designs
    • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced setting Travel.
    • Possible requirement for up to 10% domestic and/or international travel.
