The Maricopa County Treasurer is responsible for collecting all real and personal property taxes for the nation's 4th largest Treasurer's Office.
There are over 1,700 tax districts that include state, County, incorporated cities and towns, schools, community colleges, and special districts, and then distributing those funds to those tax districts.

We Also Value- Associate's degree in Business Administration or job-related experience- Three or more years of experience performing office, administrative, or clerical duties- Bilingual in Spanish and English
Job Contributions- Researches and resolves complex taxpayers' complaints; defines and solves problems; implements corrections to property taxes utilizing the Assessor's, Recorder's, and Treasurer's database- Advises potential tax lien buyers of the required information- Prepares MVD clearance letters for Mobile Home releases- Analyzes in detail property tax accounts for proper taxes, classification, special district assessments, exemptions, and communicate findings to taxpayers- Maintains knowledge of secured and unsecured taxes, and tax liens, including assignments, sub-tax, redemptions, etc.- Assists in the yearly review of tax bills verifying correct data and calculations- Prepares payer information for delinquent tax accounts- Researches taxpayer's correspondence regarding their property taxes.- Approves redemption payments for tax liens- Maintains an understanding of Arizona State Revised Statutes and applies them to job duties- Assists taxpayers in-person, over the phone, or with any written correspondence questions- Maintains knowledge regarding tax liens (i.e., assignments, sub-tax, and redemptions)- Works with taxpayers to resolve property tax issues- Assists lien holders with sub-taxing on lobby computers- Communicates information to supervisors, taxpayers, and fellow employees in an effective, courteous manner- Interacts with other County departments, including the Assessor's Office, and STAR Contact Center- Assists Tax Services Supervisor and the Business Operations Team as needed.
Working Conditions- General Office- Must have the ability to work in an office environment and work with others on a collaborative basis
Selection ProcedureMust pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive
